The preschool program is housed in the O'Donnell Building. Students are 3 to 7 years of age and attend classes from preschool through kindergarten. They participate in developmentally appropriate activities similar to those of any quality preschool or kindergarten program.

Academic emphasis is placed on the development of English language, American sign language, speech, pre-reading and pre-math skills. We strive to teach the whole child and include physical activity, creative arts, and library experiences as part of our regular program. Our staff includes teachers of the deaf, speech therapists and teacher aides working together in teams.

The program follows a typical preschool through kindergarten curriculum with increasing academic expectations as children move toward first grade. Discovery learning, children's literature, developmental reading and mathematics skills are all components of this challenging program.

Classroom teachers of the youngest children send home summaries of the day's activities every day. Parents of the older children receive information at least once each week. Parents are asked to reinforce the concepts their children learn at school and to send news of family activities to the teacher. Formal progress reports are sent to parents quarterly during the school year. Conferences can be arranged at any time at the request of the parents or teachers throughout the school year.
