The Scranton School Award Finalist
The Scranton School was recently recognized as one of two finalist for an award from the Nonprofit & Community Assistance Center (NCAC), a program of NEPA Alliance, for being the top organization in “Education” in 2011.
NCAC describes the award on their website: “The NCAC Community Awards program was created to highlight many of the programs and projects that are making a positive impact on the Northeastern PA community. Many local organizations do not receive the recognition they deserve for their hard work and dedication. The Community Awards are an opportunity to highlight their achievements and are held in the spring of each year. Award categories include Community Development/Improvement, Arts & Culture, Environmental Action/Animal, Welfare, Health & Human Services, Children & Youth and Education.”
The teachers, staff and administration were all surprised to hear of such an honor. We look forward to the announcement on June 9th during the awards ceremony at The Woodlands Inn & Resort.
