Holiday Greeting From Mr. Rhoten
The holiday season is the perfect time to reflect on what makes us all happy and to express sincere thanks for all we have to celebrate! Our friends, our families, our livelihoods, our health…and so much more – we have so much to be grateful for!
At WPSD and The Scranton School, we now have 250 students and their families for which to be truly thankful! We are gratified to be entrusted with the well-being and education of these truly remarkable students. I am so thankful for our committed and passionate staff at our three locations throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Everyone is working so hard in the best interests of our students and striving toward advancing our mission and vison of excellence in education for deaf and hard of hearing children all throughout the state. What an amazing and dedicated staff we have!
And of course, we are tremendously grateful for our volunteers, supporters and good friends who are always demonstrating their generosity to our school community. True friends like Mr. Russ Coe – a kind man whom you’re not likely to meet because his genuine humility moves him to seek no recognition – has donated significant financial support to us just because he cares. Wonderful friends like the Angelo Martini, Sr. family who have served our school community in so many ways – serving on numerous leadership committees, sharing business networks in support of the school, even serves on our Board.
As 2011 winds down and we all prepare for happy and healthy new year, I find myself personally grateful to each and every one of you. When you get a chance, make it a point to think about all that you’re thankful for. Think about all of the poeple that make our schools so special…
…and then let them know how grateful we all are for their contributions to making WPSD and The Scranton School the exceptional living and learning communities they are!
Have a wonderful, safe and happy holiday season!
Sincerely,
Don Rhoten
