Free Family Workshop: Hooked on Apples
If you are interested in Math, Sign Language and Literacy, then we have
an exiting day for you! The Family Workshop, Hooked on Apples, will be
held on Saturday, November 12th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Children, parents, family members and friends are invited to share a morning of storytelling, sign language practice, hands-on activities, and tips for developing their children’s math skill.
At this workshop we will spotlight books about apples and math,
including: The Biggest Apple Ever, Apple Countdown and Apple Fractions.
This is a wonderful opportunity to learn new signs, enjoy storytelling,
complete some projects with your children, and take your new skills home along with some good books to read! Don’t miss this day of fun and learning with your child!
We invite you to:
- Learn new signs for reading these books
- Learn techniques you can use to encourage your child to be a life-long reader
- Learn strategies for supporting math learning
- Share and learn storytelling techniques from deaf storytellers
- Participate in family learning activities
- Enjoy snacks and socialize with other families
For children through 4th Grade and their families!
